Surf photography tells half the story — sometimes you need to see it move. This collection of short surf films by Tony Palmer captures the rhythm of wave riding on Sydney's Northern Beaches, with one shortboard and two longboard sessions shot at Freshwater Beach. Longboarding in particular lends itself to film — the drawn-out lines, the footwork, the patience — and that unhurried energy is reflected in the soundtrack, with music from Pat Cappocci, Stone Lions, and Tommy Guerrero bringing the right mood to each clip. Short films, but the kind worth watching more than once.
