2026 Issue 2 - Autumn and Winter

This is a double post, as I've not taken as many pictures as usual over the Autumn and Winter seasons.  It's also a bit of a random selection. Some surfing, lifestyle, postcards and abstract art - an eclectic mix for sure.

Well, 2026 continued to be right off as I had to swap out photography for helping my better half recover from deep surgery on her right arm. This meant that the priority was helping her with day to day activities and helping with the process of healing and rehab, rather than ducking off down to the beach. It's has been easier to pop out during lunch times, so @postcardsfromfreshwater has been getting all the attention.

It seems as though 2026, will continue to be challenging. In a turn of events, my 9-5 job is switching to being in-office 4 days a week rather than 2. This leaves only one day where I can trade my commute for some time down the beach, in the water or surfing. It's not all bad, we do get a 9 day fortnight, so that is some consolation. However, getting that 1 day to line up with good conditions, surf and shooting is where the challenge will lie - stay tuned to find out.

So winter. It didn't really turn into many days of note. I was keen on a few more days like the one in March, and to write a few more articles in my "Swell Season" series. (if you missed it, go have a read), There were a couple of swells, that I couldn't make - but on the whole, winter was lacklustre by all accounts - with many folks travelling to get their big wave fix.
